Hasbro Crowd Sourcing 26″ X-MEN Sentinel Figure

The “build-a-figure” concept has been a staple of action figure collecting for years now, with fans buying several toys in order to get the parts to build an even bigger super-sized figure. But the folks over at Hasbro might have just created the ultimate Marvel Comics-based gigantic figure; one without needing to buy a bunch of smaller ones. But it still needs help from the fans to become a reality.

The HasLab has announced that they are crowdfunding an absolutely massive figure for their Marvel Legends line, a 26″ high Sentinel Robot to fight off your X-Men Marvel Legends action figures in a massive display of mutant battle action. This is the first ever Marvel Legends toy to come from the HasLab initiative.

The 26.3-inch (669 mm) Sentinel figure comes with LEDs in the head and chest (2x AAA batteries required, not included), an 18-inch Sentinel “tentacle” accessory, and a Marvel Legends 6-inch Bastion figure with 6-Inch alternate Sentinel Prime head. it also has a not-small 72 points of articulation. It doesn’t appear to have any audio action, so you’re going to have to get into your best scary robot voice and say “halt, mutant!” when setting it up. Should this get funded properly, the Sentinel will set back fans a sizable $349.00.

This crowdfund project will run from July 10th, 2020 to 11:59pm ET on August 24th, 2020. If successful, the project will begin shipping around Fall 2021.

The Sentinel robots are the biggest enemy the X-Men has, ever since the 1960s. Sure, Magneto or Phoenix are maybe the team’s biggest foes, they are allies as often as enemies. The Sentinel Program is the physical embodiment of the very thing that the X-Men are fighting hardest against. They represent the hate and persecution of the mutant race by ordinary humans.

The Sentinel design looks to be sticking to the classic Jack Kirby look, first introduced way back in Uncanny X-Men #14. It’s the basic original design, but with a little bit of ’90s Jim Lee era details and flair thrown in.  This massive toy fighting off your all your 6″ X-Men figures just needs a little X-Men: The Animated theme song playing in your display, and it will be all of your childhood toy dreams come true.
