Kermit Goes Full Sci-Fi in TERMINATOR and PREDATOR Mashup Videos

The Muppets are undergoing a cultural moment again, thanks to all five seasons of The Muppet Show recently becoming available on Disney+. But if binging all 120 episodes of classic Jim Henson goodness has left you wanting more, then we might have just the thing for you. Via Geeks are Sexy, we’ve come across perhaps the strangest Muppet mashup videos yet.

Kermit the Frog pops up in Predator and T2 in a hilarious mash-up.

Pixel Riot

The YouTube channel Pixel Riot has imagined a version of the sci-fi action classic Predator, only with the titular green meanie replaced by none other than Kermit the Frog. Poor Carl Weathers doesn’t even know what he’s dealing with here. Alien hunters are one thing. But he has no power over the rainbow connection in Jim Henson’s Predator. You can watch this wonderful bit of Muppety weirdness right here:

But that’s not the only sci-fi classic that Kermit is popping up in. Pixel Riot has also brought Muppet numero uno into a scene from James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day. In the original version, this was a genuinely upsetting scene, as the T-800 exposes his cyborg arm. But we think Elmo’s surprise appearance in The Kerminator is ever more disturbing somehow. We’re not entirely sure what to make of these videos, but they definitely made us laugh out loud.

As goofy as these videos are, they might one day come to pass. These mash-ups can actually now happen in reality. Disney owns the Muppets after all, and Disney also now owns the former Twentieth Century Fox as well; Predator and T2 were also originally Fox releases. We think  Arnold Schwarzenegger sharing the big screen with Miss Piggy is something that is long overdue. Pixel Riot are the very same folks who brought us the amazing Pee-wee Herman/Jurassic Park mash-up recently. To see more of their amazing mash-ups, be sure to head on over to their YouTube channel.
