Even superheroes need a break. A quick second where saving the world may not be the foremost thought on their mind. In the time between Thor: Dark World and the beginning of Avengers: Endgame, Thor had a pretty rough go of it. To quickly sum things up: his parents, best friend, and brother all died; his long-lost sister tried to kill him and she did kill his little buddies; Ragnarok destroyed Asgard; and then half of Earth’s population just vanished like that thanks to a little snap from Thanos. Oh and then he had an off-screen breakup with Jane. So when we caught up with Thor in Endgame, he was majorly going Through It. As a deeply traumatized and grieving person or god should. Now, LEGO and Marvel have commemorated Thor’s safe space and hangout spot on New Asgard in a sweet new set.
LEGO
LEGO is in the process of releasing a slate of sets associated with the Infinity Saga and we feel grateful to see them include important sets like Bro Thor’s New Asgard. Yes, a probable 6,000 piece set of the major battle is a sure hit, but the small moments matter just as much. (Not plot-wise per se, but certainly in our hearts.) And this set looks straight out of Endgame.
Bro Thor’s New Asgard is a pretty manageable set, clocking in with 265 pieces and a featuring minifigure of Bro Thor himself. It’s also chock-full of party staples like pizza, video games, and a very roomy couch. But of course it’s not a hangout spot with some buds to bro down with. So as in the film, Korg and Miek are along for the ride. Korg is a minifig while Miek is buildable (eggs not included.)

Of course, a few very important accessories remind us where we are in the MCU and who this superhero and god is—even if he, like One Direction, is on a hiatus. Namely Stormbreaker, his very cool enchanted axe courtesy of Space Peter Dinklage and Groot. And, of course a newspaper featuring the very grim headline indicating the five year anniversary since the “blip.” And is that a photo of Thor and Loki on the wall? Oh buddy. Bro Thor’s New Asgard set certainly depicts a tragic amalgamation of the best of times and the worst of times. Dickens would feel proud.
Bro Thor’s New Asgard is already up for preorder at Target for a pretty affordable $29.99. The set arrives on August 1.
