FALLOUT 76 Will Be Four Times Larger Than FALLOUT 4

Much like The Ink Spots, Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard may not want to set the world on fire, but he left the stage ablaze at the Xbox E3 press conference on Sunday with the first details about the hotly anticipated Fallout 76.

According to Howard, Fallout 76 is a prequel to all the other Fallout games. In terms of size, it is four times larger than Fallout 4, taking place in the sprawling mountains and hills of West Virginia.

Announced earlier this month by Bethesda, Fallout 76 takes place in the Shenandoah Valley, putting players in the shoes of a survivor from Vault 76, emerging from the relative security of the vault to brave the post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland and rebuild society.

The trailer featured all manner of iconic imagery from previous Fallout titles, as well as some monsters that look like brand new additions to the game. According to Kotaku, the game is rumored to be an online survival RPG in the same vein as DayZ or Rust, but there have been no official details yet. We will learn more about Fallout 76 at Bethesda’s E3 press conference on Sunday evening, so stay tuned for updates as they come in.
