Ever wondered what it would be like to not just play a game of Settlers of Catan,Opens in a new tab but to actually get to walk around inside one?
Well, wonder no more. For his Bachelor party, Ben Brophy (Reddit user bentrophyOpens in a new tab) and company put together one giant game of Catan. Instead of moving pieces on a table-top board, however, the game took place outside. Everything you might normally expect from a game to Catan was replaced with giant recreations.
And of course, like any game of Catan, this double-stuffed version needed some resource tiles like these mountains, for instance.
Check. But, what about the resources themselves? It isn’t quite a game of Catan without wool, ore, or even some brick to fight over. Don’t worry, those were created, too.
Look at that. Everything a blossoming player could ever want or need to start building roads and cities. But what did it look like all put together?
Bam. One giant game of Catan. Even game-play aspects like roads (and of course, points for the longest road) were included. And here’s a little look at just what playing the game was like, in motion.
