THE RINGS OF POWER Season 3 Trailer: Sauron Forges the One Ring

A new age is dawning on Middle-earth. Or perhaps it’s dusking. Because this is a dark one everyone, so strap in. In The Rings of Power season three teaser trailer, released at San Diego Comic-Con, we get a glimpse at the world now that Sauron is free to be his evil self, free of disguise. The Dark Lord is here, baby, and he’s not going back into hiding. And that means dark forces are roaming Middle-earth freely, Orcs (that’s Uruk to you) are roaming freely, and Sauron is up to his usual ways, trying to tempt every free-thinking creature in Middle-earth to succumb to his power and evil.

Sauron is also literally forging the one ring in this trailer. Where there’s darkness, there’s light. And light is surely heralded in this The Rings of Power season three, with Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandalf, now in his full Gandalf form, leading the way. You can watch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season three’s teaser trailer in full below and get excited.

We’ve missed Middle-earth. And even though this chapter seems like it will be a harrowing one, we can’t wait to return to the universe. Charlie Vickers’ Sauron has shed the humble trappings of Halbrand, the regal charms of Annatar, and all other masks to just… be his fullest self. That means deranged armor with faces screaming, dark hair, and that delicious smirk. Can Galadriel continue to keep her mind shut to him?

Well, she’ll have a little reinforcement, because this The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season three trailer also reveals that Jamie Campbell Bower will play Celeborn, Galadriel’s husband. And, as we said, for every darkness, there’s a light. Where has Celeborn been and what has he been up to? We’ll have to wait to find out. But we are seated to know. We’re obsessed with the new romantic notes that we see in this season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, though. Especially the scenes we see of Galadriel and Celeborn fiercely kissing. The yearning between them is strong and beautiful. We strongly support it.

Do We See The One Ring Forged in this The Rings of Power Season 3 Trailer?

Okay, but wait. Did we just see Sauron forge the One Ring in this The Rings of Power season three trailer? It certainly seems like we did. There’s a pouring of metal, intense Mount Doom explosions, and then one shiny piece of jewelry with inscriptions inlaid into the metal. All of that points to Sauron having cracked the code on the One Ring. We can’t believe it’s finally being forged. But if we’re seeing this much in the trailer, we bet there is still much more to unveil when it comes to Sauron’s creation of the One Ring.

A release shares, “A brand-new teaser trailer unveiled the darker tone and some epic moments from Season Three, as Sauron’s quest to forge the One Ring is fully underway, and his goal to control all of Middle-earth threatens every one of its realms, causing new, and sometimes uneasy alliances to be formed to try and stop him.”

Old Favorites Return and New Characters Catch Our Eye

In addition to all of that, we see all our favorites return in this trailer, from Elrond to Durin, from Arondir to Elendil, and everyone in between. We’re also pretty excited to see a brand new member of Uruk nation in the mix. He wants Galadriel to come with him. And we have so many questions. Does Galadriel remember everything she learned about how orcs/Uruk have hearts, names, and souls from Adar? And if she does, does this Uruk/orc mean her well? AHHHHHH. There are too many questions without answers.
