SHE-HULK First Reactions (Mostly) Rule in Favor of the MCU Show

She-Hulk is coming to the MCU, and she’s bringing a law degree with her. The MCU’s newest superhero is an attorney who has to deal with both super villains and the law. That’s not easy, but she’s happy to tell us all about both. Because, like her comic counterpart, Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters breaks the fourth wall. But can an MCU show that has more in common with All McBeal than WandaVision work? Especially when it mixes in meta-commentary? Based on the first reactions to the She-Hulk Disney+ series, Marvel’s famous green lawyer easily passes the bar of high expectations for some. But not everyone thinks the show makes a convincing case.

Some of those lucky enough to get an early look at the series’ first four episodes praised the show’s comedy in their early reactions to She-Hulk. They especially laud its star, who they say delivers plenty of laughs in a pitch-perfect performance.

Those of us here at Nerdist agree. Our staff found that She-Hulk finds the right balance to deliver something fresh to the MCU.
