She-Hulk is finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Disney+ TV series so far.
Disney revealed the full title in May 2022 with their Upfront presentation: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
A full clip from She-Hulk reveals Bruce Banner and She-Hulk learning the ins and outs of being a Hulk. (Which includes excellent alcohol metabolism.) But it’s not easy being green.
In addition, at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios released a new She-Hulk trailer. Happily, the new look at the show revealed that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil would be joining the show. We can’t wait to see more of the hero in the MCU.
Recently, Marvel Studios also gave us our first good look at Daredevil’s new MCU look in the latest She-Hulk promo.
Daredevil has gotten a suit update for his upcoming MCU appearance, which fans have affectionately dubbed his yellow suit for its new golden details. This Daredevil costume references Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s Daredevil Yellow. It harkens to the black and yellow costume that Daredevil wears in those comics. We can’t wait to see Daredevil and his yellow suit head back into the fray in She-Hulk.
Although we’ve seen a few promos now, we don’t know a ton about She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘s plot yet. Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk is a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. From the first trailer, we can see her cousin Bruce Banner helps her train and understand the ways of being large and green. The official synopsis says:
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
A new interview with Empire gives us further insights into the series. Star Tatiana Maslany shares:
She really is the antithesis of most superhero narratives… There’s this great element of denial in her that’s relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk.
She’s in a career that’s male-dominated and incredibly vicious and hierarchal. When she’s heading this superhuman firm, that’s where we get some really fun characters that she’s either defending or in opposition of. It’s like this really absurd take on a legal show.
Behind the Scenes
Jessica Gao serves as head writer for the series, while Kat Coiro and Anu Valia will direct. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao. Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth are co-executive producers.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will have nine episodes.
Tatiana Maslany will play the title role of Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk. If you’re unfamiliar with the character, Walters is a cousin of the Hulk, a.k.a. Bruce Banner, who receives some of his blood after a transfusion for her health. Because of the transfusion, she inherits some of Bruce’s powers, although unlike him, she can control them. This allows her to balance her life as a superhero and a lawyer.
A host of MCU actors will appear in the show. They include Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil (who plays Titania), Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
She-Hulk‘s Release Date
She-Hulk will premiere on August 18, 2022 and air new episodes on Thursdays.
