One of my favorite drinks in the whole world is a little warm cup of maple syrup. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. And you’re right: that sounds delicious. But I realize not everyone has imbibed a little container of the sticky stuff. Meanwhile, some will always be reluctant to ingest any without the presence of a waffle or pancake. If that’s you, or if you simply prefer a chilled drink instead, there’s good news. Pepsi and IHOP have partnered for a breakfast-inspired beverage that will celebrate that delicious tree nectar. They’ve combined forces for a limited batch Maple Syrup Cola.
Forget orange juice or even iced coffee. A lucky select few will soon wash down their morning meal with Pepsi’s newest unique sugary sweet concoction. According to a press release, the new Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola “combines the indulgent flavor profile of maple syrup with the crisp, refreshing caramel notes of a Pepsi.”
Would I drink this? Uh, did you forget how this post began? Yes. Obviously. But it won’t be easy for any of us to get some. This cola won’t be sold in stores or even served at IHOP. Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola will only be given away via an online contest. To enter post either a “photo or video of your stack(s) of pancakes” on either Instagram or Twitter. Make sure to use the hashtags #ShowUsYourStack and #PepsiSweepstakes. And also tag @IHOP. Only 2,000 lucky winners will get the limited edition drink. And one grand prize winner will receive a custom Pepsi Spout based on IHOP’s signature syrup pitchers.

I would also like one of those very much too, please and thank you. In the meantime I might just pour some maple syrup into a can of Pepsi to see how it tastes. Yes, once again I know what you’re thinking right now: If it’s even half as delicious as drinking pure maple syrup straight it will definitely be awesome.
