23 New POKÉMON Soda Pop Plushies Are Coming—Here’s Our Special First Look

In May, Pokémon fans worldwide got an adorable surprise. The Pokémon Soda Pop Plush collection was officially released outside of Japan for the first time. Trainers everywhere could now take home cuddly versions of their favorite Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. For many fans, the Pokémon Soda Pop Plush collection had been a kind of distant dream. Since the collection was only available in Japan, getting one’s hands on the plushies had previously required complicated maneuvering. But no longer! And now, after the success of the first wave of plushies, more Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies are coming to the Pokémon Center. In fact, 23 new Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies are now available for purchase. They’ll release today on July 29th.

Nerdist is excited to provide a special first look at three of these new plushies, Bounsweet, Litwick, and Marill, and full details of every new Pokémon Soda Pop Plush available. You can check it all out below.

Here’s Our Special First Look at Bounsweet, Litwick, and Marill From the Pokémon Soda Pop Plush Collection

At Nerdist, we were lucky enough to get an early look at three of the new Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies: Bounsweet, Litwick, and Marill. All three of these Pokémon are adorable in any form, but there’s something very viscerally pleasing about getting to snuggle miniaturized versions of them in your arms. And it’s not an exaggeration to say that these Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies are velvety soft. The fabrication of them is really pleasant and will make you want to go in for another cuddle. Some plushies are just nice to look at, but these are definitely great to hold—a lovely blend of squishy and firm.

Plus, they’re just the right size. You can cuddle one creature at a time for a little boost or fit around three at once into a bear hug for a big snuggle. The slightly rounded-out forms of these Soda Pop Plush Pokémon make them extra cute and welcoming. These fancy fellows are even hand-wash only.

And, of course, the details of the Pokémon Soda Pop Plush line will please any die-hard Pokémon trainer. Marill has a zig-zagging tail, Litwick has a two-tone flame and stylish wax bang that covers one eye, and Bounsweet’s little feet and four-leaf lifestyle have been perfectly replicated. (As a note, Bounsweet’s leafy head is especially soft!) This plush line does feature some artistic stylization, though, which makes it worth the purchase and helps it stand out from other Pokémon plushies out there. The colors are selected with a certain aesthetic eye in mind and the line invokes a feeling of retro-pop art, especially around the geometric design of the eyes.

23 New Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies Are Now Available

In addition to Bounsweet, Litwick, and Marill, there will be 20 other new Pokémon Soda Pop Plushies available, 23 in total. You can take a look at images of all the new plushies below and then check out the full written-out list of which new Pokémon have made the Soda Pop Plush cut, as well.

Although we love our three early guests, we have to say that Mew will always be the most adorable Pokémon of them all and Mew in Pokémon Soda Pop Plush form is no exception. Of course, we are always happy to see Pikachu and Eevee appear in a collection as well. And they are just so dang cute here.
