IT: CHAPTER 2 Fan Posters Are Beautiful and Frightening

We’re just a month away from It: Chapter Two, the sequel to 2017’s surprise smash hit It, based on the novel by Stephen King. Every glimpse we get at the film has us more intrigued and excited, from the stellar trailers to a new behind-the-scenes featurette. All of the cast interviews that promise a bloodier, scarier film than the first one. The marketing has been great so far, and we’re especially excited about their latest effort to get folks hyped: An art contest where talented fans got to show off their best Pennywise art and win big prizes along the way. The results are simply fantastic—and extra spooky!

The official It Twitter account made a call for submissions back in June. Here was the prompt:

“Every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine. IT Chapter Two brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film. To amplify the September 2019 launch of IT Chapter Two, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures are creating an art activation campaign leading up to this film’s release, and they want to collaborate with you! To bring this aspect of the upcoming film to life, artists, designers, and illustrators are invited to create static and animated “Come Back to Derry, Maine” travel poster artwork inspired by the IT Chapter Two trailer, key imagery, and the most recent trailer for the film. Artists are encouraged, but not required, to create two versions of travel poster encouraging visits to Derry, Maine; one in the daytime and one in the nighttime to show how sinister the town can get at night.”

Well, the contest is closed and the winners are here. The Twitter account posted the selected fan posters this week. The lucky winners, ten in all, were selected by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures and each received $1,500. Let’s take a look!

Like we said, these are fantastic! And they appropriately lured us back to Derry, Maine.

It: Chapter Two scares its way into theaters on September 6.
