The Golden Girls is celebrating 35 years since it first hit the airwaves in 1985. Golden Girls premiered on September 14, 1985, and was an instant hit which ran for seven seasons. As a way of honoring Dorothy Zbornak, Blanche Devereaux, Rose Nylund, and Sophia Petrillo, the folks at Cakeworthy have created a special line of apparel featuring those legendary ladies this summer. You can now wear your favorite elderly TV icons with pride.
The Golden Girls Cakeworthy collection will feature an array of ’80s-style pastel color palettes, over-the-top graphic prints, and of course, cheesecake. Wearing this clothing is simply the perfect thing to wear out on your tropical print couch out on the lanai. This collection features colorful jackets, button up shirts, dresses, t-shirts, shorts, and sweatshirts. We can only hope someone sends a t-shirt to Betty White herself!
The Golden Girls have experienced a resurgence in terms of its popularity since going off the air way back in 1992. All this thanks to endless re-runs on TV, a whole new generation have grown to love the sarcastic remarks of Dorothy, the innocent musings of Rose, and lusty comments of Blanche. The beloved show has inspired memes, parody videos, and Golden Girls-themed games of Clue and Trivial Pursuit! These days, there are even Golden Girls Chia Pets.
In fact, the Golden Girls house is currently for sale, so maybe whoever the lucky buyer is can show their love for the women of 6151 Richmond Street, Miami, by wearing some of this clothes in their “golden palace.” By the way, that’s the only mention of the ill-conceived spin-off show you’ll see from us here!
The Golden Girls Cakeworthy collection will be available for fans to buy starting on August 7, 2020. The entire collection can be found on the Cakeworthy website.
