‘I’ve Been Hanging Out with Your Wife.’: Charlie Vickers on Sauron & Galadriel

If you’re a fan of the relationship between Sauron and Galadriel, you probably already heard about The Rings of Power’s showrunners calling what will happen between Sauron, Galadriel, and her husband, Celeborn, in season three, a love triangle. But we’re equally obsessed with the version of events that Charlie Vickers regaled us with in our recent interview. Vickers let us know that Sauron and Celeborn have a history of sorts… But when they meet back up again in season three of The Rings of Power, Sauron will have some explaining to do about what he’s been up to with Galadriel. Vickers notes that the relationship between Galadriel and Sauron will hang in the air between Celeborn and Sauron. You can watch Vickers answer, which contains the words, “I’ve been hanging out with your wife,” below.

In full, here’s what Vickers had to say about the relationship between Celeborn, Galadriel, and Sauron: “I mean, the thing with Celeborn is when Sauron meets Celeborn, if Sauron meets Celeborn, well, let’s face it, they’re going to meet at some point. They have their own shared history. They’ve both been around for hundreds of years. So they have their own kind of thing.” Vickers mimes two people meeting and recognizing one another, “Oh, it’s like, oh… And then there’s also this other added thing of, by the way, ‘I’ve been hanging out with your wife.'”

It’s no small added thing, that’s for sure. Sauron and Galadriel’s intense entanglement throughout the first two seasons of The Rings of Power set in motion the series’ main events, including the formation of Mount Doom and the forging of the Rings of Power. Had Galadriel not let Sauron into her heart and mind, he may have never risen to power again. And it’s clear that, whether they like it or not, the relationship has left a massive mark on both characters and their journeys. And, now, Galadriel’s closest confidante, who has no idea that she’d become so intertwined with the Dark Lord, has returned… And it sounds like Sauron may be the one to tell him… “Hey, Galadriel and I have been hanging out.” That’s Middle-earth drama at its finest.
