Good news and bad news are on the horizon for Animal Crossing lovers. Good news first. Nintendo will soon release a big free Animal Crossing: New Horizons update and a new paid DLC. Bad news? In news we first saw on IGN, the company will only support minor updates to the beloved game after this update.
But let’s not focus on the sad parts. While more updates may not be coming, this isn’t goodbye by any means. Players can continue to enjoy the game and all the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates coming in November. Here’s more about what’s in store.
First comes the free update. Among other things, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 2.0, you’ll be able to visit a familiar face at a coffee shop. The Roost is now a location that players can engage with, and it comes complete with Brewster. Players can also take a Kapp’n Boat Tour to visit new islands. These islands will feature different weather, wildlife, seasons, times of day, and more. Harv’s island also makes its return. Harv is building a plaza with shops, and you can contribute bells to the cause. Island visitors will eventually set up different shops in the plaza, and you can even get your fortune read by Katrina. Gyroids will return to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well. And if you want, you can partake in group stretching with your island’s villagers.
Other new features include the ability to cook with your own vegetables and other food items, new and expanded storage options, and even an enhanced camera app for better photo taking. These updates and more promise better gameplay and will introduce new, fun things to do on your island.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons free update will release on November 5.
The paid DLC Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise offers an even more significant update to your game. In Happy Home Paradise, players will assist Paradise Planning, a resort developer, in designing vacation homes. You’ll be in charge of coordinating dream lifestyles for characters. Characters with dreams come to visit, and it’s your job to make them the home they want. You can select an island for them, then start designing. You can design and develop their home inside and out. Eventually, you’ll be able to take new design knowledge you gain back to your own island. Partition walls, counters, pillars, lighting, soundscapes, and more can come home with you.
Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise will also release on November 5 and will cost $24.99. We wish all players their dream islands and homes.
