Update 11/4/19: These are the kitchen items you’re looking for, and now you can now bring them home. Le Creuset’s (star)killer line of cookware inspired by the galaxy far, far away is for sale at Williams Sonoma. And they arrived with some great new details, thanks to StarWars.com’s interview with Le Creuset’s senior category manager Sara Whitaker. These are our favorite insights she shared.
–In news that would surely make Anakin Skywalker scream, “Nooooo!” the special embossed lid of the Darth Vader Dutch Oven was molded with sand. Le Creuset has also embossed the Imperial cog on the underside of the lid. They also put “France” on there spelled out in Aurebesh. Perfect.
–The beautiful, extremely limited edition (only nine!) Tatooine Dutch Oven is the company’s first ever hand-painted enamel cast-iron product; it required a complicated process that involved hand-painting a type of spray paint to achieve its depth of color.
–The team went to great lengths to get the details right in the Han Solo in Carbonite Roasting Oven, which also involved creating an all new “Stone” color, which features dark gray with “flecks of gold and silver.”
–The hand-carved, highly-detailed Porg Bird Pie piece, which required four different colors, was actually Yoda in early planning.
Le Creuset
Between Star Wars movies, TV shows, comics, toys, and collectibles, Lucasfilm is always cooking up new ways for fans to connect with the galaxy far, far away. Now they have come up with a way for you to celebrate your love for the franchise while cooking, with a new line of cookware from Le Creuset.
You can now turn your kitchen into a working Star Wars homage thanks to the Le Creuset’s new cookware featuring some of the most famous characters, droids, scenes, and places from the history of the franchise. It includes:
Han Solo Carbonite Signature Roaster ($450)
Le Creuset
Featuring the company’s only roasting pan with a lid, they’ve recreated Han’s iconic look when he was frozen in carbonite. (You love it, just maybe not the price tag? We know.)
Droid Mini Cocottes ($30 each)
Le Creuset
The most famous droids in the galaxy, R2-D2, C-3PO, and BB-8, all get their own mini cocettes for when you want to make a great side dish with the help of a great sidekick.
Millennium Falcon and Death Star Trivets ($20)
Le Creuset
These silicone trivets will be the first time ever it will be safe to land on the Death Star.
Porg Pie Bird ($25)
Le Creuset
If we’re being honest, not all of us knew what a pie bird was before looking it up, but now we know we must have one and it must be this ceramic porg.
Darth Vader Round Dutch Oven ($395)
Le Creuset
This limited edition black Dutch Oven based on Darth Vader is most impressive.
However, our favorite piece in the collection might be this very (VERY) limited edition, hand-painted Dutch oven based on the most important planet in the galaxy.
Tatooine Round Dutch Oven ($900)
“Inspired by the desert planet that Luke and Anakin Skywalker both called home, this exclusive Round Dutch oven is as unique as Tatooine’s iconic, binary sunset. Complete with a Signature Gold Knob and featuring the pinks and blues of a fading Tatooine sky, this special-edition pot perfectly captures the warmly-lit world in the galaxy’s Outer Rim—the world that first introduced us to the Star Wars saga.”
In tribute to the nine films in the Skywalker family saga that will end with The Rise of Skywalker, only nine of these total will be sold. You can sign up here at your chance to nab one of them. May the Force be with you. The rest of the collection will be available for purchase on November 1, and you can register your email now to be the first to buy them.
The only problem we see with any of these? They might be too nice to cook with.
