VISIONQUEST Looks WAY Better Than Expected in Final Trailer

For all of the MCU’s many well-documented missteps following the end of the Infinity Saga, there have also been some absolute stellar releases during the franchise’s most recent phases. That includes on Disney+, home of both WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Now that era of witchy tales is coming to an end. VisionQuest will conclude the tale of Wanda and Vision’s tragic love story by bringing back the villain that inadvertently brought them together, Ultron. And the fantastic final VisionQuest trailer promises that part three of this TV trilogy will be weird, wonderful, and dangerous… and way better than we expected.

Nerdist Take: VisionQuest Looks So Much Better Than We Imagined, If the Trailer Is Anything to Go By

Oh yeah that’s the stuff. That’s an absolutely banger of a trailer for a show that looks so much better than anything we ever expected from it. From its trailer, VisionQuest looks surreal, mysterious, heartfelt, and funny, all while having real stakes, both for the characters involved and the universe at large. Plus it has James Spader chewing up scenery as human-form Ultron.

Oh yeah.

Also just as good as this VisionQuest trailer? The show’s incredible poster we can’t get enough of. It’s unexpected banger after unexpected banger for this series.

VisionQuest Synopsis and More

What is exactly going on in the VisionQuest trailer, though? There is so much rich MCU history behind this story that you can read up on. But here’s the official synopsis from Marvel Studios:

Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

VisionQuest comes from creator Terry Matalas. It stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Emily Hampshire, and James D’Arcy.

It will also be the last MCU release before Avengers: Doomsday. And if it’s as good as this trailer, VisionQuest will be one of the best MCU post-Infinity Saga releases. We’ll find out if it can deliver on its promise when it comes to Disney+ on October 14
