Thor Vs. Hulk Fight Scene From RAGNAROK Is Even Better With Lightsabers

Taika Waititi’s Thor: RagnarokOpens in a new tab is pretty much a perfect Marvel movie. It’s got action, charm, and oodles of perfectly executed silliness. So how do you improve something that is already super awesome? By adding lightsabers of course! The Star Wars galaxy’s weapon of choice for Force users always makes every fight scene just that much cooler. This Thor/Star Wars mash-up comes to us via a YouTube channel called ImmersionVFXOpens in a new tab (via Geeks are SexyOpens in a new tab) who also recently did the Games of Thrones Cleganbowl fight scene with lightsabersOpens in a new tab.

Aside from the fact that the God of Thunder and the Jade Giant have their weapons replaced with classic Jedi armaments, there are other Star Wars nods to be found throughout the videos. For starters, Emperor Palpatine is spliced inOpens in a new tab as a little cameo during the second video. And we hear John Williams epic “Duel of the Fates” from the prequel trilogy at a particularly crucial moment in the big brawl as well. Seeing the two Avengers clash lightsabers inside a big crowded arena makes you wish that the Jedi arena battle was this cool in Attack of the Clones. (Although, that fight scene is still pretty dope.)

ImmersionVFX has added some lightsaber moves to other beloved action scenes before as well. If you go on to their YouTube channel, you can check out Wesley Snipes as Blade kicking vampire butt, Jedi-style. You can also see Gal Gadot as Wonder WomanOpens in a new tab bring her own Jedi/Amazon mash-up, as well as the residents of Middle Earth. Yes, even the Fast and the Furious and Predator franchises get the full lightsaber treatment. Hopefully ImmersionVFX gives us what we all are really craving, and we see Pikachu brandishing some lightsabers in a badass fight scene before too long.
