The Walking Dead universe continues to keep crawling forward with its various spinoffs. Maggie and Negan’s ongoing series, Dead City, is ready to go for its third round as Maggie fights to reclaim her son Herschel from Dama’s influence and Negan finds his way after losing Ginny in season two. And, Daryl and Carol are together in Daryl Dixon to hopefully find their way home. Speaking of Caryl, the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere in 2027.
It wraps up yet another spinoff series, but this one truly hits different. Daryl and Carol have been around since the beginning of the flagship show, and their friendship is truly one of the best in the universe’s history. TWD boss Scott Gimple talked about Daryl Dixon‘s last season at SDCC 2026, saying that is amazing with a scope that’s crazy.
As always, we are wondering what’s next for Daryl and Carol? Is there a spinoff that reunites them with Rick Grimes and his wife Michonne? Maybe that’s an ending scene that we don’t know about. Either way, we know that Caryl needs to come on home to Virginia to see the Grimes family.
There’s been some previous chatter about an Endgame type of crossover reunion with Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Maggie, and Negan at some point. We do have an upcoming season for Dead City that could end up with Maggie and Negan heading back towards Virginia.
But, there has always been a possibility for Dead City to have a fourth season as well. We did not get a confirmation of that during Comic-Con, but it is totally possible. Either way, we want to see everyone reunite for a happy ending. Maybe The Walking Dead fans will get what we richly deserve in 2028 or 2029. Scott Gimple, please hear our cries.
