Animals Try To Solve Hugh Jackman’s Murder in THE SHEEP DETECTIVES Trailer

Usually when a legitimate movie looks like an SNL parody or a 30 Rock gag, we are not exactly excited to see it. That is not the case with The Sheep Detectives, which stars Hugh Jackman. The star-studded film’s newest trailer has us ready to join some lovable animals as they solve a brutal murder in a very silly comedy-thriller, a sentence we promise is totally accurate.

And that’s why you read to your animals. Just in case they’re sentient and able to solve complex problems like your own murder. Here’s the official synopsis for The Sheep Detectives starring Hugh Jackman to go along with that trailer:

In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.

Again, this is a very real movie that is coming out and not an epic months-long bit. It’s stars are certainly real. In addition to Jackman the movie features Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein, and Rhys Darby.

Incredible. If someone murders me please ensure that exact group of people also show up after I’m dead. They don’t have to solve my murder or anything. I just want everyone at my funeral to be both impressed and confused.

I hope that is not a thing anyone has to worry about anytime soon. But one thing that is happening soon is The Sheep Detectives coming to theaters. It premieres on May 8. Yes, it really will. This is a real movie and not a big joke. And we couldn’t possibly be more excited to make sure that’s true.
