THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM Teases Great Evil

We’re all excited for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda game Tears of the Kingdom. This Breath of the Wild sequel has been highly anticipated for some time among serious gamers and casual fans alike. But it’s not all fun and games in Link and Zelda’s world because great evil is on the horizon. The latest trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom teases that there is much menace to come. And it looks dark enough to rival any great fantasy series. Players will have to contend with a dark cloud of their own, though, as Tears of the Kingdom also comes with a surprising price hike. But, the game will probably be more than worth it to fans.

Take a look at the sneak peek at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Hyrule is in grave, grave danger. But even though Princess Zelda isn’t sure if Link can beat the darkness, we know better than that. If Link can’t do it, no one can. And by Link, we mean you. Of course, this look at the game also teases the great beauty of this open world, as we’d expect. But the ending note is one of warning.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Price Increase, Release Date, and More

In addition to our latest glimpse at the game, Nintendo announced that a collector’s edition of Tears of the Kingdom will release on launch day. Much to players’ dismay though, the regular version of the game comes with a not-so-excellent twist. Tears of the Kingdom will cost $69.99, a first-of-its-kind price bump for Nintendo first-party games. Until now, games have cost players $59.99. According to Game Informer, Nintendo has noted the Tears of the Kingdom price hike will not apply to all games. And that the cost of any game is determined “on a case-by-case basis.” The collector’s edition of the game, meanwhile, will cost approximately twice as much, with a price tag of $130.

A new Amiibo figure will also be available as a treat for fans. The figure will also release on May 12 and will offer weapons and materials when tapped. You’ll also unlock a special fabric for Link’s paraglider. Nintendo notes that other The Legend of Zelda amiibo figure will also give you a boost in Tears of the Kingdom.

We’re excited about Link’s latest adventure and the journey it will take us all on. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases on May 12, 2023. Pre-orders are now open.
