In the final episode of The Boys, titled “Blood and Bone,” everything that the show has been building toward since the very first episode comes to a head. Although Frenchie (Tomer Capone) is dead, he manages to activate the superpower-removing blast in Kimiko. She and the Boys head to the White House to finish Homelander once and for all, as he prepares to announce his godhood to the world in an Easter Sunday broadcast. But who makes it out of the finale, alive? This season, we have already seen A-Train, Black Noir II, Firecracker, and, most recently, Frenchie all die. This is a series where the body count is often high. But in the end of ends, what endings greet our main characters on The Boys? Who stays alive and who finds themselves dead after the series finale? Here are the final fates of the rest of the main characters from The Boys:

Sister Sage (Susan Heyward)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

After provoking Kimiko into a rage to unleash her Soldier Boy blast, Sister Sage loses her powers of super intelligence. In her own words, she becomes just as dumb as everyone else. In her The Boys ending, Sister Sage decides to run off to Orlando to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter before Homelander finds her and kills her. Luckily, that problem turned out to be something she didn’t need to worry about. We hope she’s enjoying Universal Studios Florida.
The Deep (Chace Crawford)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Dead

During the White House battle, Starlight takes The Deep, already completely humiliated by Homelander and called totally useless by him, onto an unknown beach somewhere. The two fight it out, and The Deep begins to cry and blame Starlighter for all of his problems. She tosses him into the ocean, where angry sharks, furious at him for the massive oil spill he caused in the previous episode, kill him and presumably eat him. R.I.P. Kevin. You were a total dbag, and will not be missed. The Deep’s ultimate The Boys ending is the best one for him, dead in the ocean.
Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

After a pep talk from her dearly departed Frenchie, Kimiko is able to tap into her inner strength and unleash the power-nullifying blast, which removes Homelander’s powers. This also removes the powers of Ryan and William Butcher, who were both in the Oval Office, fighting Homelander and beating him to a bloody pulp in The Boys series finale. With her mission accomplished, Kimiko goes on to live her life in peace. But not before stopping in Paris, France, and having some local desserts in a cafe to honor her lost love. It’s a beautiful The Boys ending, and we’re glad Kimiko can have it.
Homelander (Antony Starr)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Dead

Homelander takes over the Oval Office, preparing to broadcast his ascension into Godhood to the entire country. Luckily, Billy Butcher and The Boys make it there first, and the long-awaited final battle between Butcher and Homelander begins on The Boys series finale. Homelander gets the upper hand on Butcher, but his son Ryan flies in to even the odds. It’s at this point that Kimiko uses her blast to remove Homelander’s powers, and Butcher beats the crap out of him. (This is also broadcast to everyone on Earth.) Homelander demeans himself and begs for mercy, but Butcher takes a crowbar to his skull and ends him once and for all. Good freakin’ riddance. With that, Homelander’s official The Boys ending is dead and humiliated.
Ryan Butcher (Cameron Crovetti)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive
Ryan Butcher loses his powers in the White House battle when Kamiko unleashes her blast. After Homelander dies, we see him with the rest of The Boys in their safehouse. Butcher tries to reconcile with him, but Ryan still wants nothing to do with him. He acknowledges that his father was evil and needed to be stopped, but also that Billy Butcher isn’t much better as a human being. It appears that he goes off to live with M.M. by the end of The Boys series.
William Butcher (Karl Urban)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Dead

Even after Homelander is dead in The Boys series finale, Billy Butcher isn’t done. He takes the vial of the supes killing virus and plans to unleash it, killing every superhero on Earth. But Hughie realizes what he’s about to do, and follows him to Vought Tower. Butcher fills the water supply in the tower with the virus, hoping to unleash it through the sprinkler system. But Hughie tries to stop him, and the two have a brutal fist fight. Ultimately, Hughie shoots his friend and mentor, and Butcher dies, realizing Hughie did what he had to do because he would have never stopped otherwise. It’s a sad ending for Butcher, but ultimately fitting that neither he nor Homelander remains alive at the very end of The Boys.
Marvin T. Milk/”Mother’s Milk”/M.M. (Laz Alonso)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

Mother’s Milk is key to defeating Oh Father with the help of a ball gag, allowing his friends to finish Homelander for good on The Boys series finale. At the end of the episode, we see M.M. remarry his ex-wife and rejoin his family, now that his mission is done. It also appears that he adopts Ryan Butcher, or at the very least, becomes a new father figure for him. We’re so glad M.M. could find this peaceful ending on The Boys.
Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

Ex-Vought CEO and later VP of the United States, Ashley Barrett, with the help of her telepathic other self “Bashley,” helps The Boys sneak into the White House to finish Homelander. After he’s defeated, she assumes the role of POTUS. She publicly claims credit for the CIA operation that took Homelander down and brought about his death. The authorities nevertheless arrest her for treason, where she presumably spends the rest of her life in prison. It’s a fitting ending for Ashley.
Oh Father (Daveed Diggs)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Dead

Thanks to some scheming from his wife, Ashley Barrett, and a quick ball gag placement on his mouth when he unleashes his powers, Oh Father blows his own head off in the battle at the White House. What becomes of his ministry is unknown at this time.
Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

Somehow, Stan Edgar weasels his way into taking control of Vought again, promising to end unchecked superheroes for good. It doesn’t seem as if he’ll ever pay for his part in all of this. But hey, some evil has to manage to live another day, or The Boys ending wouldn’t ring true.
Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

After Hughie is instrumental in defeating Homelander, the new President tries to recruit him into a new CIA division to take care of out-of-control supes. But Hughie doesn’t want anything to do with it and instead opens up his own electronics shop. He and Annie are expecting a child, whom he’s naming Robin, after his deceased former girlfriend. The series ends with Hughie looking up at the sky as his romantic partner takes off into the sky to help those in need. He continues to love Billy Joel. It’s another beautiful The Boys ending for a character we love.
Annie January/Starlight (Erin Moriarty)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

At the end of The Boys series, Starlight is pregnant and in a relationship with Hughie. She is actually a legit superhero in the traditional sense. She appears to be co-running Hughie’s electronics store with him, and the couple seems legitimately happy. Although Annie points out that the two have not legally married yet. At the end of the episode, Starlight has Hughie listening to a police scanner for trouble and she goes off to help where she can. Bringing a traditional superhero narrative into The Boys is a clever ending for Starlight and a fun twist for the series as a whole.
Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles)—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Alive

Soldier Boy was last seen in the previous episode, where he walked away from his son Homelander, off into the sunset. But Homelander wouldn’t let dad go and puts him back into stasis. Given what the world knows about Homelander and the Seven by the series’ end, we can’t imagine he ever gets unfrozen. But he’s technically still alive, so he’s a fairly big loose end, and we imagine The Boys spinoff series Vought Rising will address his ultimate ending somehow.
Terror the Dog—THE BOYS ENDING STATUS: Deceased

Billy Butcher’s loyal bulldog seemingly dies from natural causes in The Boys series finale. That, or they didn’t get all that chocolate he ate out of his system. He was a good boy who deserved better. We can’t believe The Boys killed the dog… But actually we really can.
