The Boys season three is already giving fans all the wild, weird, and plain disturbing entertainment that they crave. Butcher and Hughie are on V24 to the dismay of the crew. Soldier Boy is a jerk. And Homelander is perhaps the scariest person in that universe. This season is only four episodes in with Herogasm to come (bad choice of a word, I know) soon. But the flood of viewers and overwhelmingly great response is already leading to some great news. The Boys will return for season four and we cannot wait to see what the creators do next.
According to a press release, the first three days of season three led to a 17% growth in the show’s worldwide audience from season two and a whopping 234% from season one. Now that’s a lot of people tuning in to see this band of antiheros go against a supe collective. Of course, showrunner Eric Kripke is thrilled to continue expanding this saga with epic stories in this wild universe.
“Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more,” said Kripke. “We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”
Just imagine what else Homelander could have up his sleeves. Yikes. We don’t know how this season will end nor where the story will go next. We do know that the universe is continuing to expand with the upcoming Boys college spinoff and in this flagship show. And we’re excited to hear the next season will begin filming this summer. And we will be tuning in for every single gory, uncomfortable, and hilarious moment.
