STAR TREK: PICARD Season 2 Trailer Shows the Return of Guinan

Star Trek: Picard brought back the beloved Jean-Luc Picard and many faces from Star Trek‘s past. The first season focused on the mystery of Dahj and Soji Asha and Zhat Vash, a secretive anti-synth organization. After many tangles with Romulans and Dr. Soong, Picard and his ragtag crew set off into the galaxy. And in season two, they’ll go into an entirely different kind of journey. A journey that sees the return of John de Lancie’s Q and Whoopi Goldberg’s Guinan. Both of whom appear in the newest trailer.

Did we melt at seeing Guinan and Jean-Luc together once again? Absolutely. We lost it when Sir Patrick Stewart asked Goldberg to join season two of Star Trek: Picard live on The View. The heartwarming moment happened in January 2020, a lifetime ago, and we feel so happy to see it come to fruition. Old friends, together again. Plus, Guinan always keeps things real for Picard. Here, she tells him, “Your answers are not in the stars and they never have been.”

And Picard needs that realness. Season two of Star Trek: Picard brings back one of Jean-Luc’s oldest enemies: Q. A member of a super race, Q brings trouble wherever he goes. The season two synopsis states:

Season two of Star Trek: Picard takes the legendary Jean-Luc Picard and his crew on a bold and exciting new journey: into the past. Picard must enlist friends both old and new to confront the perils of 21st century Earth in a desperate race against time to save the galaxy’s future – and face the ultimate trial from one of his greatest foes.

The trailer certainly leans into eye-catching action, but it’s Star Trek, so we know it will go deeper. Hopefully our stalwart crew can stop reality from breaking. Star Trek: Picard season two premieres on Paramount+ on March 3.
