Good-slash-bad Mews, everyone! Adidas has come out with a line of Pokémon gear as lit as Charizard’s borps, but even though it was launched earlier this month, there are only two items available on the shoe manufacturer’s site as of right now. And while there’s no word on when the entire line will be available, Pokémon lovers out there may want to prime themselves for catching all the crossover wearables as they become available.

The line of Pokémon-inspired Adidas shoes and clothes was, surprisingly, recently announced in a seemingly under-the-radar way. While Adidas did put out a press release in early January announcing the Poké gear (more pictures of which are available in the image gallery below), there doesn’t seem to be any mention of it on any of the company’s social media accounts—that we could find, at least. Luckily SoraNews24 picked up on the items from the line that will be available in Japan, which is how we sleuthed out the existence of these Poké kicks, tees, pants, and tracksuits.
Speaking of which, the line of shoes and clothes has been divided between youth and adult styles, with each sub-line featuring its own unique products. The classic black tracksuit, for example, is only available for the youth line, while the tapered-cuff pants are only available for adults. According to Adidas, both lines have been “inspired by classic lo-fi 8-bit graphics, reminiscent of Pokémon as they were seen when the first games launched,” however, which means both young and old(er) fans will be treated to the same aesthetic theme.

For all the adults out there, the Adidas Pokémon collection includes a pixelated Pokémon tee, the aforementioned tapered-cuff pants, and “a new take on the running-style adidas Phosphere shoes.” We highlight the adult gear here not to be exclusionary to all the Igglybuffs and Chinglings out there, but to focus on those who have jobs and are thusly more capable of shutting up and having their money taken. (Although there are certainly plenty of kid YouTubers out there who’ve already traded in their Play-Doh for mountains of real, metaphorical dough.)
As of this writing, the two Pokémon-themed items available on the Adidas site are a men’s pixelated Pokémon tee and some Advantage Shoes tattooed with pictures of a pixelated Pikachu. The tee is already sold out though, and the shoes are from the youth line. It’s still only a matter of time before the rest of the line is released—probably—so at least there’s that light at the end of the tunnel. Which we’d really love to see when it comes to all those Studio Ghibli films on Netflix that won’t even be making it to North America.
