Coca-Cola recently released the first flavor from its new Creations program. It’s out of this world. And we’re not speaking metaphorically, either. Coca-Cola Starlight is meant to evoke the taste of those celestial beings. Turns out stars tastes sweet and fruity. What does that mean for the next special Creations release? We have no idea! Because if you thought the taste of starlight was hard to figure out, that’s nothing compared to guessing the flavor of pixels in Coca-Cola form. No wonder Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte drink will be served digitally inside Fortnite, too. We can’t wait to taste this pixels-flavored Coke.

The Coca-Cola Company announced its next Creations release will arrive in both the Metaverse and our own universe. The new “gaming-inspired” Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte (which we first learned about at CNET) will “bring the flavor of pixels to life.” (So…Mountain Dew?)
However, the soda company isn’t saying what the limited-edition beverage will actually taste like just yet. All Coca-Cola says is that the pixels-flavored Coca-Cola has a “bright, upfront taste is reminiscent of powering up a game, and its refreshing finish makes for a perfect gaming companion.” Okay! Sure!
Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte has launched in “extremely limited quantities” in a few Latin America countries. It arrives in the US on May 2. That’s when you’ll be able to buy twin packs of 12.5-oz. slim cans exclusively online at Coca-Cola Creations’ official site.
At least, that’s when you’ll find some in the real world. You can find a Coca-Cola digital drink at the new Pixel Point Fortnite island. Players who visit “will discover Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte in the metaverse.” They can also “interact with fellow gamers through a series of four sensory-inspired, multiplayer mini-games.” The island has four virtual rooms: The Castle, The Escape, The Race ,and The Tower. Coca-Cola says “each immersive room poses its own challenge that can only be solved by working in tandem with fellow players to progress up the tower.” While visiting you can also get a virtual can. Just enter code 8565-0287-3178 to grab a digital cola.
Customers/gamers can also scan a Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte package at the Creations website to unlock an augmented reality (AR) game. It “tells the story of BYTE, an 8-bit pixel left behind when Coca-Cola Byte entered the metaverse.”
What it seemingly won’t do is tell us what pixels actually taste like. For that, we’ll have to wait to find the stuff in the physical universe. In the meanwhile, we’re cheering to this news with our digital pixels-flavored glass of Coke.
