Nursing home residents at Sydmar Lodge Care Home in London have done a photo series recreating classic album covers, and they apparently had a ton of fun doing it. Below is a series of the album cover recreations (album cover covers?), which feature the nursing home residents nailing the vibes of everyone from Adele to David Bowie.
Laughing Squid picked up on the covers, which were recently posted to Twitter by Sydmar Lodge Activities Coordinator Robert Speker. Speker noted in his tweets that the home, located in the heart of London’s Edgware suburb, has been on lockdown for four months now.

Although Speker’s primary goal for the project is to make the residents’ “time as happy and full of enjoyment and interest as possible,” he’s also launched a GoFundMe campaign. The campaign’s goal, Speker says, is to raise global awareness of the fact that “this situation is on-going [and] it could be months before the situation changes for them….”
Speker also says on the GoFundMe page—which is currently at about half its goal of about $2,500—that “elderly people will remain in lockdown for a long time….” He adds that “it’s been [his] privilege to keep them entertained during the COVID crisis with no outside entertainers or family.”

With or without the GoFundMe dollars, it’s clear Speker is helping the residents to have a ball. There are roughly a dozen of the album cover recreations and they include Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A., Madonna’s True Blue, Adele’s 21, and even Blink-182’s Enema of the State.
On top of the album covers and GoFundMe campaign, Speker has also apparently been doing his best to keep Sydmar Lodge’s residents entertained with his singing. Below, the activities coordinator puts on a rendition of “Hello, Mary Lou” by Ricky Nelson.
