New LEGO STAR WARS Republic Attack Cruiser Set Celebrates 20 Years of the Clone Wars

Although we saw the Clone Wars break out in Attack of the Clones in 2002, we didn’t see content entirely devoted to that conflict until the animated Clone Wars micro-series in 2003. Which was, of course, followed up by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series in 2008. As a way of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the galactic conflict of Republic Clones vs. Separatist Droids, LEGO is releasing a Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser Star Wars building set, made up of a whopping 5,374 pieces. It stands at 12.5 in. (32 cm) high, 43 in. (109 cm) long, and 21 in. (54 cm) wide. You can see the first images of this incredible LEGO Star Wars set in our gallery below.

This LEGO set is the first Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series building set inspired by the Venator-class Star Destroyer. Also, it is the first Clone Wars building set to join the range. The Galactic Republic extensively used the vessel during the Clone Wars against the forces of Count Dooku. During the Clone Wars, the Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser served both as a starfighter and troop transporter. It was the template of the later (much larger) Imperial Star Destroyer we’d see in the original trilogy. Not to mention in Rogue One and Rebels.
