Which Anime Is Most-Watched In Your State?

With so much anime out there, it can be hard to keep track. But if you want to stay in the know with the people around you, CenturyLink has put together an interesting resource: a chart of each state’s most searched anime. The thought is, the more a state searches for an anime, the more people in it are likely watching it. Makes sense to us. So which states are watching which anime? And which anime is the most-watched of all? Let’s take a look.

Which anime is most searched/watched in your state? A map determining tbe answer.

Well. The votes are in. That data reveals that the most-watched (a.k.a. searched) anime out of the 100 most popular anime around is… One Piece. And overwhelmingly so. Twenty-five states saw One Piece topping their search charts. That doesn’t surprise us at all. Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates have quite the following. Who doesn’t love pirates, after all? And it can’t hurt that Netflix has a live-action One Piece adaptation in the works right now. Not to mention, this anime has been sailing since 1991 and it’s still going. Other shows out there feel very, very jealous.

Other shows clocking in at the top? Pokémon, Naruto, and My Hero Academia. Pokémon, of course, has captured the heart of generations. It inspires new artwork, games, and more continuously. Naruto, meanwhile, is a classic in its own right. And My Hero Academia‘s anime take on superheroes definitely locks it in as a crowd-pleaser.

Meanwhile, other anime fared less well. Sailor Moon and Attack on Titan only snagged one state each. Obviously, both are wildly popular anime. But we guess they just don’t find themselves at the very top. I’m sure if we dug deeper into the data, we’d find them ranking plenty high in many states. In the name of the moon, I command you to give Sailor Moon her due.

We also don’t see some of our personal favorites, like Yu-Gi-Oh!, on this list. And all we have to say is. People don’t know what they’re missing. In the meanwhile, our straw hats are off to you One Piece. Congratulations on taking the crown.
