Marvel Studios Will Reportedly Have NO Super Bowl Ads

Marvel always has some money in its marketing account. So despite the big costs, it’s not shy about using the “Big Game” to advertise its biggest releases. And with two big MCU movies on the horizon in 2026—Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday—it seemed possible if not likely each film could get their own commercial during this year’s Super Bowl. But a new report says not to expect to see either on Super Sunday. That doesn’t mean Disney will sit out the NFL title game entirely, though.

Deadline‘s Anthony D’Alessandro says that according to his sources Marvel Studios isn’t planning to air a commercial for either Spider-Man: Brand New Day or Avengers: Doomsday during Super Bowl Sunday. Both seemed liked prime suspects to get a pricey ad as Tom Holland’s Peter Parker returns to the big screen on July 31 and Robert Downey, Jr. will return to the franchise as its new big bad on December 18. But this shouldn’t be that surprising, as their might not be two films that need a $10 million dollar spot less. “Spider-Man and the new Avengers” is enough of a selling point. Both films might also get even more attention releasing their first trailers later when they don’t have to share the spotlight with any other studio.

But Deadline says Disney might still take advantage of the gigantic global Super Bowl audience. We could still see trailers for both Pixar’s Hoppers (March 6) and Toy Story 5 (June 16). And the galaxy far, far away could make its presence felt on February 8. The Mandalorian and Grogu isn’t far away from arriving in theaters. It premieres on May 22 of Memorial Day weekend. A super trailer could super charge interest in the film.

Do we think we’ll get a Star Wars trailer during the Super Bowl. We’re not sure. Does anyone know if Grogu likes sports?
