Disney’s Dapper Dans Sing the Haunted Mansion Theme Song

With the stateside Disney theme parks closed for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the park’s most devoted guests are deeply missing being able to spend time there. With that in mind, the folks at Disney has been bringing a little bit of the magic of the parks home for their fans, with their #VoicesFromHome initiative.

Musical performers from the various parks have been bringing their skills and talent directly to the fans from home. And perhaps no musical performers are more associated with the parks than the Main St. Dapper Dans. The barbershop harmonizers recently got together remotely and brought the 999 Happy Haunts from the Haunted Mansion from their homes to yours.

Via the Disney Parks Blog, we’ve learned that the Dans got the band back together to sing one of the park’s most beloved songs, the Haunted Mansion’s “Grim Grinning Ghosts.” Much like “A Pirate’s Life for Me,” and “It’s a Small World After All,” the Mansion’s spooky theme music is one of the tunes most associated with the both Disneyland and Disney World.

During Halloweentime at Disneyland, the Dans often wear ghostly attire and perform this song live for park guests. But seeing as we’re exactly halfway to Halloween, now is the perfect time to bring this classic song to life. Or should we say un-life?

During this shelter at home time, fans have found different ways to bring the Disney theme parks home, going as far as recreating the various attractions in their own apartments and houses. And none is more popular to recreate than the Haunted Mansion. But if you don’t want to go to all that trouble, you can always just cast the sounds of the Mansion to your television screens on a ten hour loop. Dim all the lights, light a few candles, and it’s almost like you’re there. And now you can add the sounds of the Dapper Dans to make your ghostly experience complete.
