Many big budget blockbusters fail under the burden of expectations, and no 2024 film arrived with more hype than Deadpool & Wolverine. Fans waited years to see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s iconic superheroes team-up on the big screen. And it was totally worth the wait, as Marvel’s multiversal epic lived up to its oversized expectations. A big reason why is that the film features a fantastic soundtrack highlighted by a memorable choral rendition of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” Now Nerdist has some exclusive news for movie and music lovers alike. You’ll soon be able, for the first time, to take the film’s soundtrack home with Mutant’s Deadpool & Wolverine Original Score vinyl album. And it includes that climactic cover.
In the spirit of the film, Mutant has put an impressive team together. It is partnering with Hollywood Records and Marvel Studios on the debut home release of Rob Simonsen’s Deadpool & Wolverine score. (Which was also Simonsen’s debut superhero score.) Not only is the limited-edition vinyl pressing the soundtrack’s first physical release, it includes the first official release of the I’ll Take You There Gospel Choir’s rendition of “Like A Prayer (Choir Version).”
But that’s just one of the many songs fans will find on this two-disc release. It comes with 34 tracks on two 140gm color vinyl. (One disc is red, one is yellow, obviously. You can find the full tracklist below. The album also features original exclusive artwork by Matt Taylor, with liner notes by Simonsen.
Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine – Original Score album ($45) will be available for presale at Mutant’s website starting today, Friday December 13, at 10 am PT.
Unlike the movie, though, we don’t have to worry if it will live up to our expectations. We know this soundtrack already exceeded them.
