The list of actors in Avengers: Doomsday is massive and still getting bigger by the day. Yet, despite the sizable call sheet, the multiversal crossover event is still missing a lot of major characters from the MCU, the Fox X-Men movies, and the Deadpool franchise. Who is still not officially confirmed for Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Here’s every character who could (reasonably) make a surprise appearance in Avengers: Doomsday.

Conflicting Reports

Spider-Man (Tom Holland) – There have been conflicting reports about whether or not Tom Holland will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. A post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Brand New Day that connects to Avengers: Secret Wars certainly makes it possible he’ll first return in Doomsday, even if he only appears in a small cameo.
Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) – Doom took the Hulk in a new Avengers Endgame: Encore scene. He might definitely appear in a short role in Avengers: Doomsday despite mixed reports.
Daredevil (Charlie Cox) – Charlie Cox has repeatedly said he’s not in Avengers: Doomsday after his personal trainer said he was. We don’t know if he’s running cover for a slip up but it won’t surprise us to see Daredevil, either.
Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) – Benedict Cumberbatch says he’s not in Avengers: Doomsday. A million rumors (and logic) say he will. What to believe? We think he’s in it, in large part because of that unconfirmed image of an unknown Doom wizard with a third eye-like spot on his forehead
Not Technically Confirmed, But….C’mon

Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) – A trailer shows Cassie Lang and her dad Scott hugging at Kate’s apartment.
Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) – Would they really have Vellani host Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast and not put her in the film? We refuse to believe it.
Love (India Rose Hemsworth) – How can Thor, one of the main characters in the film, appear without his daughter (who is played by Chris Hemsworth’s actual daughter)?
TVA Employees Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), Casey (Eugene Cordero) James Dryden (Ralph) Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) – All of them appeared in the most important bonus scene from Avengers Endgame: Encore. The TVA will also play a huge role in the film. It would be shocking if we don’t see all of them in some capacity.
Franklin Richards (Unknown) – The character is sort of a big deal. We’re not sure which child actor will play him (it can often change from project to project), but we’ll see Franklin one way or another.
Fox X-Men Movies

Of the many Fox X-Men actors not listed for Avengers: Doomsday these are the ones that are the most shocking/shockingly inexplicable omissions. Some might be unlisted because they could end up answering the question about who is under the masks of Doom’s Latverian witches, but for now we’re baffled by them not being in the cast.
- Storm (Halle Berry) – How could Halle Berry and Storm NOT be in this movie?
- Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) – Same question for Famke Janssen as Jean Grey.
- Rogue (Anna Paquin) – Nom seriously, what’s going on here?
- Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) – Why wouldn’t Iceman be fighting with his fellow mutants to save his world?
- Pyro (Alexander Burton) – He already played a variant of his character in Deadpool & Wolverine.
- Peter Maximoff (Evan Peters) – Thanks to Ralph Bohner he’s already a part of the MCU thanks
- X23 (Dafne Keen) – Get her in this movie please and thank you.
Related But Introduced in the MCU
Deadpool Movies

We don’t expect to see any of these four, but it wouldn’t surprise us if we did, either. Deadpool like to call his friends for help.
- Domino (Zazie Beetz)
- Colossus (Stefan Kapičić)
- Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand)
- Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna)
Note: Why not Josh Brolin’s Cable? With Robert Downey Jr. returning to play Doom, it seems like a bridge too far to have the guy who played Thanos also return in a totally different role. But we’re happy to be wrong on this one.
MCU Movies

We’re speed running this lengthy list by separating them into three highly scientific categories.
Probably! Yeah!
We think these unlisted performers have the highest chance of making unnanounced appearanes in Avengers: Doomsday.
- Wong (Benedict Cumberbatch) – We’d be shocked if he doesn’t appear.
- Clea (Charlize Theron) – We guarantee this one, too.
- Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) – And also this one.
- Photon (Teyonah Parris) – How can she not be?!
- Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)
- Sylvie (Sophia Marie Di Martino)
Maybe….Maybe Not….But Maybe

Not one of these actors would shock us if they pop up in Avengers: Doomsday, but we also won’t be stunned if they don’t. Hence the category name.
- Vision (Paul Bettany)
- Tommy and Billy (Ruaridh Mollica and Joe Locke)
- Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) – C’mon. Do it, Marvel. Bring back the Scarlett Witch.
- Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn)
- America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) – Feels like an important character for a movie about the multiverse!
- Punisher (Jon Bernthal)
- Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) – It would be weird not to see him, right?
- James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle)
- Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson)
- Korg (Taika Waititi)
- Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)
- Hank Pym (Michael Douglas)
- Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)
- Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly)
- The New Guardians of the Galaxy – If you forgot who they are it’s Rocket, Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo, Adam Warlock, and Phyla Vell
- Star-Lord, Peter Quill – He IS coming back at some point.
- Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) – It’s a multiverse movie. And despite that lawsuit five years ago she is still working with Disney.
Seems Doubtful!

“Seems doubtful” was the most polite title for this list we came up for. That doesn’t mean we’re happy about half of this list not making the cut. Can you tell which, thought?
- Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) ) – Bummer.
- She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) – Also a bummer.
- Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) – Another bummer!
- Wonderman (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) – Four bummers in a row? You know it!
- The Eternals – If you forgot who they are it’s fine.
- Skaar – Here we’ll save you the web search.
- Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) – He’s too busy fighting monsters in a movie that doesn’t exist.
- G’iah (Emilia Clarke) – Remember G’iah, the most power hero on Earth? Neither does the MCU.
If G’iah shows up in Avengers: Doomsday, anyone or anybody else can, too. Except Dane Whitman. We’re never going to see him again no matter how many worlds in the infinite multiverse we visit.
