Build an AT-AT for Your CAT-CAT

Every cat needs a perch where they can sit and look down on us as our rightful overlords. So this Empire-inspired cat tower is perfect. Now cat-lovers and Star Wars fans can combine their obsessions. Whitney Fabre, clearly a dedicated cat parent and Empire Strikes Back aficionado, made a 1:21 scale AT-AT for Captain the kitty. The legs are scratching posts, the body is a cubby hole, and of course Captain also likes to perch on top.

Fabre was nice enough to post the instructions, including the supply list and tools needed, so the rest of us cat and Star Wars lovers could DIY. But beware, it’s a pretty long list. Thankfully, the instructions include tons of photos of the build process and also of Captain testing out the new play structure.

Fabre is also kind enough to mention that Captain (named for Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who, of course) is a FAT CAT, so the build was designed to hold up.

Technabob brought this excellent build to our attention. It’s only the latest in cat-friendly furniture. There’s lots of great DIY builds for kitties, like this elevator so older cats can make it up the stairs. Someone even made a fish tank that accommodates cat viewership. The things we do for our fuzzy overlords.

In universe, Star Wars has Loth-cats, but they may not make great pets. Thankfully there are plenty of cats in other science fiction properties. And here on Earth. Treat your favorite furry feline friend to a play structure good enough for the Empire. And also literally anything else they want. Good kitty.
