We were incredibly excited when we got a first look at the young cast for Netflix’s Baby-Sitters Club reboot. It seems like a while since we had any news on the project. Luckily, our nostalgic dreams came true today as the popular streaming service dropped the first teaser for the series. As if that wasn’t enough, we also got a release date for the highly-anticipated project!
This super cute teaser showcases the girls’ neon-hued base of operations. It also offers up our first look at the awesome cast in the context of the show itself. And – most importantly – the clip reveals the day that audiences will be able to enjoy the series: July 3rd. Basically, Baby-Sitters Club looks like it’s going to be the perfect cheery, sweet, and summery watch.
In case you’re not already a fan, The Baby-sitters Club is “based on the best-selling, beloved book series that follows the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph) and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez) as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Rounding out the cast, Alicia Silverstone plays Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the selfless single mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of all around good guy Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein.”
Will you be checking out this new re-imagining of the beloved book series? Personally, we can’t wait for this take on the beloved stories which have sold over 176 million copies! If you want to catch up you’ve still got time as there’s a couple of months until the series hits Netflix.
So grab your dogeared book and your pastel scrunchies and get ready to relive the magic of the Scholastic book fair all over again!
