Hayden Christensen Returning as Anakin for AHSOKA Series

The internet broke in half last winter when Lucasfilm announced that Hayden Christensen would return as Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Well, that will not be the last we’re seeing of the Chosen One in live-action. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hayden will play Anakin once more, for the upcoming Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson. As Darth Vader himself once said, “It will be a day long remembered.”

Production is set to commence on Ahsoka in early 2022, aiming at a 2023 release. Now, it is a total mystery as to how Anakin will figure into the events of Ahsoka. But we’re leaning towards an appearance (or several) as a Force Ghost. Just as we saw him at the end of Return of the Jedi. (Special Edition, of course). But we could see several Ahsoka and Anakin flashbacks too, to the Clone Wars era. Yes, Hayden is now 40 and not 20. But that’s not something a little digital de-aging can’t fix.

Anakin and Ahsoka say their final goodbyes in Clone Wars.

It will also be interesting to see if Ahsoka meets not only her former mentor, but his son Luke as well. If Mark Hamill was willing to return for The Mandalorian, maybe it’s time he met his “aunt” Ahsoka as well. She must have a lot of questions for the son of the man who taught her everything she knows. And if Luke and Anakin show up together? Well then, that’s the sound of the minds of every Star Wars fan in the world melting.

Hayden’s return to Jedi robes could just be for a very small role. But we doubt that’s the case. They could film a minor cameo in secret with no one knowing, whereas a larger role would be hard to keep quiet about. Hence this report. We have a feeling this is going to be the Ahsoka/Anakin reunion fans have long dreamed of.
