Kat Dennings Returns to Marvel for WANDAVISION Show

UPDATE: 08/23/2019

During Marvel’s portion of the Disney+ panel at D23 Expo 2019, Kevin Feige had a lot to say about a lot of things. Yes he already announced or gave more info on a ton of shows including WandaVision, but there’s always more! At D23, Feige brought out Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, but he also explained the show will have a weird sitcom-meets-creepy-dread vibe. To wit, the inclusion of Katheryn Hahn as Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor. But it’ll also see the return of two previous MCU cast members.

First up, Kat Dennings will make her return to the MCU as Darcy from the Thor movies. Surely there’ll be some weird science stuff to pick apart in this series, and Dennings has the comedy chops of course. Second, Randall Park who just appeared in an MCU movie last year as Special Agent Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Hot damn! What a great show that’ll be!

During the Marvel Studios panel in Comic-Con’s Hall H, Kevin Feige brought up Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen to talk about their new Disney+ series, WandaVision. They’ll play Vision and Wanda, obviously. That much was expected. What was NOT expected was a third guest: actor Teyonah Parris. She’ll play a character MCU fans haven’t seen since 1995. Well, in-universe 1995. That’s right! She’s playing grown-up Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria Rambeau and friend of Captain Marvel.

This is obviously a huge moment; Monica Rambeau canonically is the second Captain Marvel, so her inclusion as a grown-up could point to her having super powers very soon.

WandaVision will hit Disney+ in Spring of 2021!

The announced Marvel Phase 4slate includes new films — Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi: The Legend of The Ten Rings, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Blade– as well as new Disney+ streaming series: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye.

Kevin Feige also revealed they didn’t have time to discuss Blade, Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Captain Marvel 2, Fantastic Four, or “mutants.” But are those sequels part of Marvel’s Phase 4, or 5?
