Marvel Studios took up shop in Hall H for San Diego Comic-Con. Ahead of the panel, many folks were wondering what kind of information we might receive tonight. Will the panel be a celebration of Endgame‘s massive success? A commemorative look back at the Infinity Saga? Or would it actually be a covert way of revealing the next several years of MCU-related content, both on the big and small screen? Well, lucky for us, it turned out to be the latter, and oh boy did Kevin Feige arrive ready to blow our socks off. Among the exciting announcements was the title reveal for the next Thor film: Thor: Love and Thunder.

Previously announced director Taika Waititi took to the stage to bring out beloved stars Chris Hemsworth and Valkyrie herself Tessa Thompson. Waititi spoke to the crowd, telling them that the next film would borrow elements from Jason Aaron’s The Mighty Thor.

Fans of that story will know that it introduces a female Thor. So who will be playing her in Thor: Love and Thunder? None other than Natalie Portman, who took to the stage carrying Mjolnir.

This is not a drill, folks! Natalie Portman will play female Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder!

We’re so excited and surprised we can barely form the words! Thor: God of Love and Thunder hits theaters November 5, 2021.

The announced Marvel Phase 4 slate includes new films —  Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi: The Legend of The Ten Rings, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of MadnessThor: Love and Thunder, and Blade– as well as new Disney+ streaming series: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye.

Kevin Feige also revealed they didn’t have time to discuss Blade, Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Captain Marvel 2, Fantastic Four, or “mutants.” But are those sequels part of Marvel’s Phase 4, or 5?
