A New Mickey Mouse Toy Transforms Into a Giant Mech

Bandai's new Mickey Mouse Tamashii Nations figure transforms into a mecha.

Mickey Mouse has had a number of different jobs and identities over his 102 years of life. He’s been Jack from Beanstalk fame, Bob Cratchit, a sorcerer’s apprentice, and dozens if not hundreds more. Dude’s a legend, we can’t help but stan. (Gross, I’m way too old to say stuff like that.) Mickey is so ubiquitous in fact, and has many, many product licenses, that he’s finally going where no cartoon mouse has gone before…into the realm of transforming mechas! Bandai has announced a toy, designed by none other than Kunio Okawara, designer of the RX-78-2 Gundam, the hero mech from the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime!

Bandai/Disney

We first saw this at SoraNews24. This figure is part of Bandai’s Tamashii Nation sub-brand under the Chogokin line. Chogokin means “Super Alloy” and uses metal plating to make robot figures look sick as hell. Okawara shared in the announcement video that he wanted to ensure Mickey remained recognizable and true to the original model. The finished product has a pretty big head, but we’ll let it slide. The mech looks awesome!

The familiar color scheme of Mickey’s red shorts, gold shoes and buttons, and white gloves accent the mech perfectly. I also love the mech’s tiny head has Mickey ears. Perfect. I also love that Mickey’s tail is a whip and his pants are a shield. It’s so funny and yet still so badass. I hope this continues with Goofy and Donald because we need a whole fleet.

The figure is available for preorder now and will ship in July 2025. It will cost you around $150 if you go through sites like BigBadToyStore.
