Are you absolutely tired of spending hours each week on Zoom calls? Do you wish for some sort of way to cause enough acceptable chaos to bring them to a swift end? If so, this website is the answer to your problem. The Zoom Escaper lets you add weird and downright awkward noises to your video calls in hopes of ending your endless meetings.
The website, which we learned about at Design Taxi, is the brainchild of artist Sam Lavigne. Users can pick from an array of sounds including a crying baby, construction, and the ever-annoying echo. You can go back and forth between noises and crank up the volume for extra emphasis. And maybe, just maybe, they will be terrible enough to set you free from Zoom. There is an app for the Zoom Escaper but it’s not a requirement to use it. The only thing you will need to do is install the VB-Audio plugin on your computer to put the sound effects into your meeting.
If you’re not sure how to be unnecessarily chaotic, Lavigne’s YouTube guide is here to help. The creator demonstrates the set up process and how to use all the sounds. The crying man is honestly all of us at some point over the past year.
The Zoom Escaper is pretty hilarious but perhaps you want to crush Zoom altogether. Never fear, the Zoom Deleter app is here. It will perform a search and destroy on your computer to find and eliminate Zoom altogether. That’s a pretty bold move that you might want to reconsider if you need Zoom for your job.

But, if Zoom is only for odd video chats with people you really don’t want to talk to, then go for the gusto! Maybe the Zoom Escaper (or Deleter) are the exactly what you need to free yourself from video chat sadness.
