Jedi Master Yoda, despite believing that “wars not make one great,” was indeed a great warrior nonetheless. In his day, he fought two lightsaber battles with Sith Lords twice his size. (Although yes, we know. Size matters not). And he lived to tell about them. But one Sith Lord the diminutive green Jedi never fought was none other than Darth Vader himself. It’s always been a battle that Star Wars fans have wanted to see play out. And now we can, thanks to this Star Wars fan film that shows Yoda vs. Vader in an epic lightsaber battle.
This fan edit from YouTuber Max Justh shows what an epic Force throw down between the former Anakin Skywalker and Master Yoda would look like. In the ring, it’s light side vs. dark side. Who will win? You’ll have to watch the full video to find out.
The bulk of the footage came from the finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi, specifically the final battle between Ben and Vader. Max Justh cleverly edits in different scenes of Yoda battles from the prequel trilogy. The scenes include moments from Yoda’s fight with Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones, and a lot of Yoda’s fight with Darth Sidious from Revenge of the Sith. Plus it of course has the glorious music of John Williams. We can’t disagree with the final result of this matchup. Yoda would wipe the floor with Vader even more than Obi-Wan did.
Will we ever see a Yoda vs. Darth Vader lightsaber duel for real? Who can say. We suppose anything can happen in the future. Once, we all assumed Obi-Wan Kenobi never left Tatooine for 20 years, and we were dead wrong. Maybe at some point during the Skywalker Saga timeline, Yoda left Dagobah on an important mission, and had to face off against the fallen Chosen One? Anything is possible in that galaxy far, far away these days.
