Warner Bros Sets Dates for THE BATMAN, SUICIDE SQUAD And More

According to the folks at Deadline, Warner Bros has scheduled a ton of new films, some of which should be of keen interest to fans of DC Comics and Stephen King, among other popular IPs. Included in the announcement are release dates for the following:

DC Super Pets arrives on May 21, 2021, with Jared Stern and Sam Levine directing. Patty Although not specifically stated, it’s fair to say this one is probably animated, and featuring the likes of Krypto, Ace the Bat-Hound, and Wonder Woman’s pet Kanga.

The Batman gets a release date of June 25, 2021, some nine years since Bruce Wayne’s last solo outing in The Dark Knight Rises. Matt Reeves is still attached to write and direct, even if who our Batman will be remains a mystery (for now). But we now know it’s officially not Ben Affleck.

The Suicide Squad sequel, which will be written and possibly directed by James Gunn, hits on Aug. 6, 2021. It’s still unclear which characters from the original are coming back, but we’d bet Harley Quinn and Deadshot are very likely.

In other sequel news, Doctor Sleep, the continuation of Stephen King’s The Shining, will hit on November 8, moving up from January of 2020. This is a big vote of confidence from The Haunting of Hill House‘s Mike Flanagan, who has the unenviable task of creating a sequel to one of the most iconic horror movies ever made.

Robert Zemeckis’ version of Roald Dahl’s novel  The Witches, which was made once before back in the ’90s, will now debut on Oct. 16, 2020. This one stars Anne Hathaway, and is produced by Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro, which should excite pretty much everyone.

And finally, there’s a mysterious “untitled event film” hitting on July 16th, 2021, as well as October 1st, 2021. Could this be another DC film? Or another Wizarding World movie? Let the speculation commence!
