In the age of the internet, we’ve seen the proliferation of all kinds of street magicians and stage illusionists. Who needs the local town square to perform cool magic tricks when you’ve got YouTube and TikTok? And we’ve seen some amazing ones in recent years. There’s Chris Ramsay, Rich Ferguson, Jack Nobile, and several others. But thanks to the folks at Boing Boing, we’ve discovered an illusionist by the name of Jason Maher, who performs all kinds of amazing stage illusions on his TikTok account. And we’re going to share some of our favorite and most jaw-dropping ones right here:
We’ve watched this pen trick over five times, and we still haven’t figured out how he pulls it off. This is one of his most popular videos, at 2.4 million views so far. We can see why.

In this video, Jason performs what he calls “one of the world’s oldest recorded tricks, the ball and the vase.” Ok, so it might be a trick that’s as old as time, but it’s not less impressive to watch.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings inspired this particular illusion. (Although, he only starts out with four rings). Although a “One Ring” reference from The Lord of the Rings is thrown in there for good measure.
@streetmagiciandude Shang Chi Great Movie!! can you get all the movie references in this trick?

Speaking of Marvel, Remember Randall Park’s Agent Jimmy Woo, and his obsession with Scott Lang’s card trick from Ant-Man and the Wasp? The one he’d later learn to perform on WandaVision? Well, Jason Maher is here to show you how it’s done.
