Writer Gerry Duggan (X-Men, Deadpool) teams with acclaimed illustrator Scott Buoncristiano (Angel, Angel + Spike) and lauded colorist Tamra Bonvillain (Once & Future, Wonder Woman) for a book that will combine action, adventure, horror, and humor. The official synopsis is as follows:
Dounia Mahoney is no ordinary broker of antiquities, she sees the world’s many blessings and curses and tries to keep cursed items out of the wrong hands. She and her friends set out to hunt for a camera containing an undeveloped photo of the face of true evil threatens to wipe out New York City one chilly autumn evening. If you didn’t already want to read it, there’s also a werewolf and the dancing bones of Times Square with a haunted boom box. The comic is pure, uncut fun.
Gerry Duggan is a longtime friend of Nerdist and he told us it was all due to another friend of Nerdist that The Dark Room happened.
Scott and I were introduced by our mutual friend Neil Mahoney, who was a wonderful human and amazingly talented editor here in town. Unfortunately he only got to see some of the pages, but not the finished comic. We’re dedicating it to Neil’s memory.We’re also thrilled to be joined by Tamra Bonvillain on colors, Joe Sabino on letters, and Elliott Gray on logo and design. Elliott also flexed his after effects muscles for us on that video. He’s moonlighting from his day job as a designer at Bungie.
