We are about to witness everything, everywhere, all at once, in a galaxy far, far away. Because it looks like the filmmaking team of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known as “the Daniels,” will direct an episode of the upcoming Star Wars series Skeleton Crew. According to The Hollywood Reporter, reports indicate that the Daniels will direct at least one episode of the show, which stars Jude Law. Kwan confirmed the news on Instagram, saying Skeleton Crew‘s Jon Watts approached them to do an episode a while ago. It was before Everything Everywhere All at Once. The Daniels shot it last year.
While filming is complete on Skeleton Crew, we do not yet know its full list of directors. The Daniels could also possibly direct an episode of season two. Although we do not have a second season announcement yet. The Hollywood Reporter notes that it is also possible Kwan and Scheinert could direct multiple episodes of the Star Wars show.
We don’t know too much about what Skeleton Crew will look like with or without the Daniels. But we do know the show tells the story of a group of children lost in space and their journey to get back home. We could certainly see then where the Daniels, famous for their multiversal shenanigans in Everything Everywhere All at Once, could add their mark to Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The series will occur in the same era as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. And the shows could all eventually come together for a major Star Wars event.
