Ever since Daniel Craig hung up his 007 gun and tux, fans have speculated wildly about who could replace him to become the next James Bond. One popular choice, however, will definitely not fill the role. Although actors play coy all the time, Taron Egerton seems pretty dead set that he won’t embody the iconic character next. No, it’s time to take your speculation elsewhere. Taron Egerton is not the next James Bond.
Egerton recently discussed the hypothetical Bond casting. He says in an interview with Total Film, “I’ve never been a part of the conversations. I’ve never met the Broccolis. They’ve never enquired about me. I’ve just never been one of the guys that they’re looking at. I just don’t think I’m the right person for that. I think there’s much, much, much better candidates for that role than me. But, you know, I’d be a very willing audience member. They’re brilliant films.”
Sounds like a pretty strong no to us. But luckily, we can watch the Kingsman movies if we want a taste of Egerton’s steller Bond-like performances. And what’s not to love about 00Eggsy? Even more importantly, Egerton will star in Tetris, which looks just as nutty as any Bond film that ever was.
