An all-new version of our favorite baddie Bowser will join the world of LEGO. To celebrate MAR10 Day 2023, LEGO revealed a new collaboration with the Super Mario franchise, the LEGO Super Mario Dry Bowser Castle Battle Expansion Set. LEGO has designed this villainous expansion set to work with its other Super Mario sets. And the build brings to life a whole new character and setting for fans to enjoy. Not to mention, it comes complete with devilish fire, many fangs, and a few hidden surprises.
The 1,321-piece Bowser set will surely delight fans. Builders must rescue the adorable Purple Toad from the evil Dry Bowser’s lair… If they can get past the equally cute Bone Goomba, of course. Can’t these two just join hands in cuteness and get along? Of course, we can’t forget about Magmaargh in that alliance. And the set promises to offer “action-fuelled missions and endless play possibilities” for LEGO’s interactive Mario, Luigi, and Peach.

At the LEGO Group, we celebrate the Super Mario universe every day, but we’re delighted to do something extra special to mark MAR10 Day. We’re so excited to reveal the LEGO® Super Mario™ Dry Bowser Castle Battle Expansion Set. Set in an iconic Super Mario location, fans are tasked to find the secret entrance (just watch out for the Magmaargh!), defeat the Bone Piranha Plant and Bone Goomba, use the crane to rescue the Purple Toad, then quickly grab the key. What lays behind the door is secret – you’ll have to wait and see what’s revealed!
Okay, we love a challenge… And a secret entrance… And a reveal! We have to know what awaits us in LEGO Dry Bowser’s castle. But we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out. The set releases on August 1. It will cost $109.99.
In addition to this fun new expansion set, LEGO has teased other Super Mario surprises. This year we’ll get a brand new brick-built character, Donkey Kong. We can’t wait to put that one on the shelf. We just hope that he and Dry Bowser don’t get into a brawl of epic proportions.
