Thanks to Women of the Galaxy, we get all kinds of incredible insights into characters who haven’t always gotten the love they deserve, like the Ewok Princess Kneesaa brought to life here by Jenny Parks. Before recently joining the main canon again, this vibrant warrior royal was best known for her appearances in the classic Ewoks cartoon series and the spin-off comics. But this year she was reintroduced in Forces of Destiny, bringing her into the official Star Wars fold once again. She’s the young scavenger who changed the galaxy forever and in this gorgeous art by Christina Chung we get to see Rey wielding Luke’s lightsaber in the snowy forests of Starkiller Base, recreating the iconic moment she faces down Kylo at the end of The Force Awakens. One of the standout characters from the beloved animated series Star Wars Rebels, Sabine Wren is a badass Mandalorian warrior, artist, and explosives expert who quickly became a fan favorite. This gorgeous rendering from Women of the Galaxy is by artist Sara Kipin, who’s currently hard at work on the upcoming ThunderCats Roar. Karen Hallion is the artist behind our gorgeous header—featuring the star of Rogue One, Jyn Erso—as well as this lovely portrait of Rose Tico and a fathier on Canto Bight. Tico is a new addition to the Star Wars canon but a much needed one. Resilient, funny, and incredibly brave, Rose is a maintenance worker for the Resistance who teams up with Finn to take down the First Order. If you’re super stoked to get to read this lovely book and see the rest of the astounding art from amazing creators like Alice X.
