Lucasfilm has gone all out for their Force For Change campaigns in past years, offering the chance to win a set visit to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, hang out with Mark Hamill, stay overnight at the Skywalker Ranch, and much more. This year’s initiative changes things up a bit in celebration of the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story and its biggest star, Chewbacca. (Sorry/not sorry, Han.)
Clear your throat and start practicing your best Wookiee roars, because Lucasfilm invites Star Wars fans of all ages to #RoarForChange in a global social media challenge from May 3 – 25, 2018.
Go on, give that roar a try now. We know you want to.
It’s okay if you aren’t exactly fluent in Shyriiwook, but everyone should attempt a heartfelt Wookiee roar at least once in their life. You can also don the now infamous Chewbacca mask or use a special sound now available in Dubsmash to make a video showing off your best Chewie impersonation.
Share your video publicly on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter with the hashtag #RoarForChange, and Star Wars: Force for Change (U.S.) will donate $1 to UNICEF USA, up to $1 million, for each public post, like, or share. UNICEF is dedicated to lifesaving work for children around the world.
Solo: A Star Wars Story will be in theaters May 25, 2018.
