Spoon Announces Greatest Hits Album and Releases New Single ‘No Bullets Spent’

After more than 25 years together, nine albums, and generations of fans, Spoon is overdue for a greatest hits album. But even though the band has announced an album celebrating their past work, they’re also looking forward with the release of a new single. This summer, on July 26, Spoon’s greatest hits compilation, Everything Hits At Once, will arrive on physical and digital shelves. The thirteen track-album includes:

1. I Turn My Camera On
2. Do You
3. Don’t You Evah
4. Inside Out
5. The Way We Get By
6. The Underdog
7. Hot Thoughts
8. I Summon You
9. Rent I Pay
10. You Got Yr Cherry Bomb
11. Got Nuffin
12. Everything Hits At Once
13. No Bullets Spent

Of course diehard fans are probably wondering why they don’t recognize the final track. That’s because Spoon, not content to rest on its two-and-a-half decades of laurels, also released a new single that will close out Everything Hits At Once. “No Bullets Spent” is their new, very catchy, sneakily funky track whose lyric video you can watch/listen to here.

“No Bullets Spent” was the result of a recent recording session from the band, which might presage the possible release of their next album. That would be their first new record since since 2017’s Hot Thoughts. The new single will also be available as a limited edition, small pressing 7-inch, with the A Series of Sneaks-era track “Shake It Off” on the B-side. That will be sold exclusively via the Matador and Spoon webstores, as well as during their summer tour.

Spoon will hit the road at various points with Beck, Cage The Elephant, Starcrawler, Wild Belle, and Sunflower Bean. You can find all of their tour dates and venues below.
