SPIRIT HALLOWEEN – THE MOVIE’s First Trailer Turns a Store Into a Nightmare

I don’t believe in aliens or ghosts. I also think demons and monsters are simply fairy tales, same as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. And yet, if you told me the animatronics at Spirit Halloween come alive Toy Story-style every night when the store closes I wouldn’t bat an eye. Those things are creepy and a little too realistic. No wonder they’re getting their own Halloween big screen nightmare. Don’t worry, though, the first trailer for Spirit Halloween: The Movie promises it’ll be fun for the whole family. Just so long as the whole family is okay with creepy dolls, possessed children, and the corpse of a beloved toy chain.

Strike Back Studios is taking the popular spooky seasonal store and turning it into a Halloween horror. Starring Christopher Lloyd and Rachael Leigh Cook, the film will see young friends night inside a Spirit Halloween turn into a fight against evil. A curse will make Spirit Halloween’s animatronics and decor come alive.

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

This trailer promises a family-appropriate adventure. ubt at least one element will haunt everyone. Because it all takes place inside the most horrifying place any child, young or old, can imagine – an abandoned Toys ‘R’ Us. :insert evil music…or better yet, Nick Lutsko’s “Spirit Halloween Theme” trilogy:

Spirit Halloween – The Movie comes to theaters this fall ahead of Halloween. But you can get to meet some of the cast before that. The non-human part of the cast, at least. All of the film’s monsters are based on actual Spirit Halloween animatronics, as Nightcrawler, Mr. Dark, and Buzzsaw will be coming to the big screen. And family movie or not, those things are terrifying.

Good thing they only come alive when no one is supposed to be in the store.
